Our philosophy in building sails for the Flying Scot is a no-compromise approach. Our sails are built of the best materials available and designed to the maximum allowable size with highly evolved 3-dimensional shapes. Our approach to sail design in the Scot class is a unique one. We started by looking at the average and above average sailor in the class and strove to design and build sails that would make him better. They are not a set-it and forget-it set of sails. So they require some attention but reward the crew with serious speed potential in a wide range of conditions. |

MAINSAIL
Our mainsail is designed to be optimized for a crew weight in the 320 to 400 pound range. Is is slightly flatter up high and made to be sensitive to luff and foot tension. The sail is very adjustable which makes it more versatile than the typical Scot mainsail. These Ullman mainsails have proven fast in every condition from very light to right on the edge of control. Our mainsail includes Draft stripe, visibility and jib leech windows, shelf foot, tapered battens, tell tales, and roll bag. Mainsail: $895 JIB The jib is arguably, although the smallest, the most important sail on the boat. The jib is the sail to which you steer the boat and it dictates the airflow over the much larger mainsail. Our sail has been designed from day one to be used with a snug rig. The Ullman jib is powerful with a round entry and flat aft sections. It provides a generous groove to make the boat easier to steer in a wide range of conditions. Please refer to our tuning guide for recommended forestay tension ranges. Jib includes tell tales, tapered battens, visibility window, and roll bag.Jib: $395 SPINNAKER The Ullman spinnaker is maximized for running on today's windward leeward courses. It is built to the maximum dimensions at the two measured girth points and exploits the lack of a lower girth measurement to pump extra girth low in the sail. This allows a flatter bigger-projecting upper half which makes our spinnaker the fastest runner on the market.
